What it’s Like

This is my first blog entry ever!! Well…maybe not ever. When I first moved to Florida, I had a blog through Tumblr that I promised my support from Colorado that I would update regularly. Little did I know how busy my graduate program would keep me. So technically, this is my third blog entry.. Ever!

That said, I want to give you a brief snippet of my goals are for this site. First, and foremost I want this page to

shed some light on what it is like to provide therapy to people who have experienced the worst of what life has to offer, and has chosen to cope using substances.

Secondly, I would like to share with you my own insights and gains with mental health and what it means to live my life free from mental slavery. Plus, I plan to do this in basic language, so that you may understand it and relate to it, because if anyone knows the struggle of understanding and relating to scientific and professional jargon, it’s me.

Lastly, my goal is to share with you the tools and ways in which I have used to better my own life. This will not be limited to mental health… I am an organizational nut, nutritional disciple, and nature lover. So if I find a noteworthy recipe, exercise, or meditation sequence, I will post these as well, as I know that these aspects contribute to mental fitness.

I hope you find that I am helpful to you! Also, I would like to add that I am very open to educated, informed and non-offensive opinions and experiences, so please post comments as you see fit! I am very excited to share my life and insights with you.♥♥
